The NE325 DC/DC converter è designed to recharge the auxiliary battery via the alternator.
The alternators of Euro 6 engines often provide too low a charging voltage and therefore a DC/DC converter is required to charge the auxiliary battery with the vehicle in motion.

In the case of lithium batteries, which have practically no internal resistance, DC/DC è on the other hand, is absolutely necessary to limit the charging current of the alternator and to protect the system from overheating or damage.
The DC/DC converter only supplies power when the vehicle is in motion and this is achieved via the Enable DC/DC input connected to the vehicle ignition.
POWER SUPPLY MODE:
The NE325 functions as a power supply unit if no output battery is connected when it is switched on. In this mode, the green LED (MODE LED INDICATORS) flashes and the output voltage is è fixed at 13.8V.
CHARGER MODE:
The NE325 functions as a battery charger if it detects an output battery when switching on (if the algorithm for lithium batteries has been selected, the DC/DC functions as a battery charger even if it does not detect the battery when switching on).
Via the dip switch è it is possible to select the charging algorithm depending on the battery type.
When switched on, the green LED flashes to indicate which charging algorithm è has been selected.
The DC/DC uses a combination of Constant Current and Constant Voltage charging, which significantly reduces charging time and does not damage the batteries.
When a load is inserted, the DC/DC immediately supplies the necessary current, preventing the battery from discharging (this is true if the load current is less than the maximum current that can be supplied by the power supply, otherwise the battery will still discharge with a current equal to the difference: I load - I ) dc/dc
It is possible to connect a temperature probe (to be placed on the battery), to adapt the selected charging algorithm to the battery temperature.
Charging indication (MODE LED INDICATORS):
Red LED: First charging phase at constant current (25A or 40A depending on model)
Yellow LED: Second charging phase with constant voltage (voltage value depends on the selected algorithm)
Green LED: Battery charged, Maintenance phase (voltage value depends on selected algorithm)
