International Shipping, VAT and Customs Duties
Camperflash ships worldwide.
The way VAT and any customs duties are applied depends on the destination country.
Shipments to Italy and European Union Countries
For shipments to Italy and other European Union countries, the displayed price includes the VAT applicable in the destination country, where required under EU rules.
The Customer will normally have no VAT or customs duties to pay upon delivery.
Shipments to NON-EU Countries
Shipments to countries outside the European Union are treated as exports and are subject to the customs rules of the destination country.
The process is simple:
1. At the time of purchase, Camperflash normally sells the goods without charging Italian VAT.
2. When the parcel reaches the destination country, the local Customs Authority determines any applicable import taxes, VAT/GST and customs duties.
3. The courier may advance these amounts to Customs and request payment from the recipient before delivering the parcel.
4. The courier may also charge its own customs clearance or administration fee.
It is essential to provide a correct and reachable e-mail address and telephone number when placing the order.
The courier will use these contact details to request any documents, information or payments needed for customs clearance.
The recipient should therefore promptly check e-mails, SMS messages and calls from the courier.
If the recipient does not respond, the shipment may be held, abandoned or returned to the sender. Any storage, return, duty, tax and transport charges may be charged to the Customer.
How much will it cost to receive a Camperflash order?
The following table provides an indicative estimate of the taxes normally applied to imports of camper, caravan and vehicle spare parts and accessories.
The actual customs duty depends on the customs classification of the product, the country of origin of the goods, the shipment value and any trade agreements in force.
| Country | Local VAT / GST | Indicative duty* | Practical information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Switzerland | 8.1% | 0% | Industrial products, including normally vehicle spare parts and accessories, have been duty-free since 1 January 2024. VAT and possible courier clearance fees still apply. |
| Liechtenstein | 8.1% | 0% | It substantially follows the Swiss customs system. Customs duty on industrial products is normally zero. |
| Norway | 25% | Generally 0% | For most spare parts and industrial products, the main cost is Norwegian VAT. Courier customs clearance fees may also apply. |
| Iceland | 24% | Variable | Import VAT plus any duty depending on the classification and origin of the product. |
| United Kingdom | 20% | 0% with EU preferential origin; otherwise variable | Special regime. For direct B2C consignments up to £135, UK VAT normally has to be collected by the seller at the time of purchase. Above £135, normal import VAT and customs procedures generally apply. |
| Albania | 20% | Variable | Online purchases above the applicable exemption threshold may be subject to VAT, duty and customs clearance. |
| Serbia | 20% | Generally 0-10% | The amount depends on shipment value, customs code and product origin. |

| Ukraine | 20% | Variable | Taxation depends on the import value and current customs rules. |
| Turkey | According to local rules | Special customs regime | Turkey applies specific and particularly restrictive rules to cross-border e-commerce purchases. Costs should be checked for each individual order. |
| United States | No federal VAT | Variable | Imports may be subject to duties and tariffs depending on the type and, especially, the origin of the goods. Rules for low-value shipments have changed significantly since 2025. |
| Canada | 5% GST + possible provincial taxes | Variable | Total taxation also depends on the recipient's province. GST/HST, provincial taxes, duties and clearance fees may apply. |
| Mexico | 16% | Variable | Import VAT and any duties are determined according to the product, value and origin. |
| Brazil | Variable | May be high | Brazil applies a particularly complex import taxation system. The total cost may include customs duty, federal taxes and local taxes. |

* The customs duty rates shown are indicative and mainly refer to spare parts and accessories for campers, caravans and vehicles. The actual customs classification may result in different rates.
How are taxes calculated?
In many countries, import VAT or GST is not calculated only on the product price, but on a taxable base that may include:
- value of the goods;
- shipping cost;
- insurance;
- any customs duty;
- other charges required by local law.
Products purchased: €200
International shipping: €30
Estimated import value: approximately €230
If the country applies 20% import VAT, the Customer may pay approximately €46 in VAT, plus any customs duty and courier administration fees.
Courier customs clearance fees
Fees charged by the courier for customs clearance are not customs duties and are not taxes.
They are administrative charges requested by the carrier for handling the customs procedure, advancing taxes or carrying out other import-related operations.
These amounts are set directly by the courier and are not collected by Camperflash.
Who is responsible for duties and taxes?
Unless otherwise expressly stated in the order, non-EU shipments are made with duties and taxes payable by the recipient.
The Customer is therefore responsible for paying local VAT/GST, any customs duties, customs clearance fees and any other charges required by the authorities in the destination country.
Camperflash does not determine or collect these amounts and cannot guarantee in advance the exact amount that will be requested by Customs or by the courier.
Important before placing your order
The information on this page is provided for guidance only, to help Customers assess possible import costs.
Customs rules may be changed by local authorities without prior notice. For high-value orders or special product categories, we recommend checking the rules in advance with the customs authority of your country.
